For my FMP I created a Promotional Video. The video was uploaded to Youtube only, the reason for doing this is that Youtube is the biggest video platform in the world. If you type the word video into google Youtube is the top result;

There are many different ways that I could've presented my video; Such as a DVD, Upload it to a different video site such as Vimeo or upload it to Social media. My reason for choosing to upload it on Youtube instead of any of the options above is accessibility. Youtube is the most popular video website and it is very commonly used to watch and upload short videos. If I were to put the video on a DVD it would have been a lot of hard work as I would have to get the video burned onto the dvd by a company which would've costed money and the I would have to somehow distribute the video to people who are considering coming to the lessons. Uploading the video to Vimeo would be the same as uploading it to youtube but you have to pay for Vimeo and Vimeo is tiny compared to the size and viewership of Youtube. Uploading the video to Social Media isn't the best idea as the skateparks social media isn't very popular. Instagram is their biggest Social Media page but you can only upload videos that are 1 minute long on Instagram so a 5 minute video wouldn't work but I could make a post on the Skateparks instagram page with a link to the video or I could make a much shorter video that I could put on the skateparks instagram page, this could be a good idea as it will be on the skateparks biggest social media page which means that it is more likely to be seen by more people. Another place that I could put the video is on Unit 1 Skateparks website:
The website isn't very dynamic and up to date as it was created a few years ago and hasn't been updated since. It still shows old pictures of the skatepark and times. If the website was good and up to date then I would definitely try to get the video on the website as people who are interested in the lessons would be able to see the video without having to search for it elsewhere. This is one of the best ways to promote the video as it would be one of the first things that you would see when you visit the website and look for the lessons.
This is why I believe that I have made the best choice by uploading my video to Youtube instead of uploading it or having it processed in another way. The video is very easily accessible and on a world-wide website that is very well-known.
