Unit 12 presentation feedback

This is the feedback that I received from my lecturer for my presentation. I feel as if all of the feedback is valid and understandable. I will now discuss the feedback and how I could have made the presentation better.

The first comment was that I used clip art on a template powerpoint. It was not actually clip art but a cartoon clapper board. I did try to find a genuine picture of a white clapper board but I could not find one so I had to use this. I used a template powerpoint as I didn't know what to do to make a good powerpoint.

Next my lecturer said that the next slide was not introduced well. To improve this I should have ensured that I emphasised that cinematography was my specialist area so that it was clear what the point of the slide was.

The third video on the slide was not working due to the size of the file, I did not know this until I got to the slide as I didn't see the error message and it was too late to download the video and add it in.

My research for my first idea was not specific enough, to improve this I should have explained what each piece of research was and how it is relevant to the idea.

I had some good pro's and con's but I did not explain the audience. The reason I didn't discuss the audience is because I do not know where I should aim my video as there are 2 potential target audiences as seen in a previous blog post.

I used logos instead of visuals for my second idea as I did not know what video to put into my presentation as it didn't really fit the theme.

My research was weak to back up what I was talking about. Again I should have gone into more detail about what the research was and how it helped me to get a wider understanding of what I need to do.

My pro's were quite dismissive as I didn't talk much about them. I should have spoken in more detail about the pro's and how they are classed as pro's.

Could use previous client - was he a rapper? I didn't mean that I could use him for a rap song but in the sense that we could collaborate agin and create a video that was fast paced and more upbeat than the last one so that I can create a video that uses some of the editing techniques that my inspirations use.

Again my research did not back up my idea. To ensure that I succeed next time I will gain some extra research even if it will not be my chosen project just so that my presentation will be more even and accurate.

Overall I have some good presentation skills but I need to engage with the audience more by being more enthusiastic and having eye-contact with the audience
