Above is a video from 3 people that I interviewed with some questions about the videos that I have in mind to create. I am going to be analysing to information that they relayed to me and conclude what I should try and put into each video. This video portrays the feelings of 3 different subjects and what they would like to see from either of the videos that I am planning on making. I will be analysing what each subject said and how I can implement their views into my video.
I asked 3 questions about each video so there was 9 questions in total. The questions that I asked are on a word document that I linked at the top of the Unit 12 page.
Question 1. I asked about what people would like to know about lessons they were going to get. The first subject said that they would like to know who was teaching the lessons and what they would learn on the lessons. The next subject said they would like to know what would be going on in each lesson. The final subject said they would like to know the basics of what they will be learning. This information tells me that people want the video to inform them mainly about who will teach the lessons and what they will learn in the lessons. This is something I must take into consideration as people want to know this information in a video.
Question 2. I asked if they would prefer an informative video or a visually appealing video. 2 of the interviewees answered that they would like the video to be informative and visually appealing whereas the other interviewee would prefer the video to be visually appealing. This tells me that the video has to be visually appealing as all of the interviewees agreed that it should be visually appealing but it must also be informative as 2 of the interviewees believe that it should be informative.
Question 3. I asked if they would rather hear from people that receive the lessons or the people teach the lessons. The first interviewee answered that they would like to hear a bit from both whereas the other two answered that they would like to hear from the people that receive the lessons as that will be what they will be doing.
Question 4. I asked about what people would like to learn about a new clothing company that is starting up. The first interviewee said they would like to see what they have to offer and who the owner is and what their inspirations are. the second interviewee would like to see how they though of it and how it has progressed over time. the final interviewee would like to see examples of the clothing and who wears the clothing.
Question 5. I asked if they would like to see the design process, production process or both. All of the interviewees said that they would like to see both parts of the design process as it will be good to learn more about the company that they could potentially buy from.
Question 6. I asked if the interviewees would like to see people wearing the clothing or not. All of the interviewees responded that they would like to see people wearing the clothing as they can gauge how the clothing fits on a person and the audience of people who are likely to wear the clothing.
Question 7. I asked my subjects what their favourite music video/style of music video was. Interviewee responded by saying that they like videos that don't really have a story as they are nice to watch and easier to understand. The second interviewee said that he enjoyed video with fast cars and girls. The third interviewee said that he liked crazy videos with lots of effects and colours. I have many different responses from this question so I do not really have a solid idea of what people prefer. I believe that it is down to the type of music it is as to what the music video should look like. I feel like the genre of music that it is depicts the style of music video.
Question 8. I asked what people look for in a music video as I want to see what they say as it could help me to add some more into a potential music video that I could make. Interviewee 1 said that they look for the visuals as that is what you came to watch at a music VIDEO. Interviewee 2 said that he looked for visual looks of something expensive. The final interviewee said that he looked for people having fun after creating their own music.
Question 9. I asked if people would prefer an over edited video or a aesthetically pleasing video. 2 of the interviewees said that they would like an over edited video and one of the interviewees said that they would like to see an aesthetically pleasing video. This shows me that there is no solid choice on what people want to see.
From all of these questions I have learnt a lot about what people want to see from the videos that I could potentially create. For the first video idea I have learnt that people want to know about what is involved in the lessons that they could be getting and what kind of things they will be learning and how it can help them. I also learnt that people want to be informed by the video as it will be necessary to know what to expect before going to the lessons as it is important to not go in to some lessons with no idea about what you will be learning and what skills you will gain. I now also know that people would prefer to hear from people who get the lessons as well as the people who teach the lessons but it is more important to hear from people who receive the lessons as that is what people are more likely to do.
For my next idea I also learnt that people want to see what type of clothing the company makes as well as learning about their target audience and their inspirations from their designs. I also learnt that everyone would like to see the design process and the production process, this is important as I believe everyone would like to know more about clothing companies because I think that a lot of production isn't shown and i think that it would be good to show that. I've also learnt that people want to see people wearing the clothing in question as they can see what the clothing looks like on body and how it can be styled.
For my final idea I learnt that their is no set video that people like but it depend on the genre of music that the song belongs because some music videos will not work with certain styles of songs. There is a large range of what people like to see in music videos and again believe that it all depends on what type of song the video is for. I also learnt that the style of video, either being over-edited or aesthetically pleasing depends on the song that has been used.
