What I have learnt

Today I have learnt about denotations and connotations, a connotation is the ideas associated with a picture or a word. For example if you were to see a motorway you might think of cars or traffic. A denotation is what you actually see when you are shown a picture.

I will now talk about the connotations and denotations of this picture;

Denotation: A fire extinguisher

Connotation: Fire, Pain, Burns

Denotation: A happy little boy

Connotation: Enjoyment, happiness

Denotation: Computer

Connotation: inception

Denotation: Blinds

Connotation: Shade, Cover
